The Shield seasons are American crime drama created by Shawn Ryan. Its opening theme “Just Another Day” has been given by Vivian Ann Romero, Ernesto J. Bautista & Rodney Alejandro while cinematography duties are handled by Ronn Schmidt.
Michael Chiklis has produced the show in association with Shawn Ryan, Scott Brazil and Glenn Mazzara for Fox Television Studios and Sony Pictures Television (formerly Columbia TriStar Television). Most of the scenes are shot in Los Angeles, USA. The show is originally broadcasted on FX Networks in 480i (SDTV) picture format. The Shield season 1 was premiered on March 12, 2002.
The Shield seasons are set in fictitious district of Los Angeles, where a church is used as an experimental police station by the Los Angeles police department. It focuses the team of detectives named ‘The Strike team’ who want to bring justice in town in their own way. Even though the show has ensemble cast and runs multiple storylines in every episode, Detective Vic Mackey is the key character of the show and leader of the team, the Strike. Other members of the team are David Aceveda, Shane Vendrell, and Julien Lowe. Most of the episodes showcase the strike team bringing peace as the citizens have been left with no or little faith on police. They are shown very brutal with the criminals and even follow illegal path to give justice but arte soft with innocent people. Most of the portrayals are based on real gangs and the names are little bit modified. To make it look real and documented, music is used only in the end of episodes.

The Shield season 7 won a 2008 AFI Award for best television series. Time magazine ranked the show 8th in the ‘Top 10 Returning Series of 2007′. Based on its theme, many Video games for PC and PlayStation 2 have been released. ‘The Shield: Music’, an audio CD, from ‘The Streets’ featuring 19 songs including the theme song has been released and got very good response from the audience. The shield seasons ended on November 25, 2008.
