Season 1
The Shield was premiered on 3-12-2002 with the pilot episode. Series begins with Detective Vic Mackey who’s the head of an aggressive Anti-gang unit called the Strike team. As the season begins, Dutch and Claudette investigate the murder of Nancy Reborg and during their investigation they do discover that her missed daughter has been sold by her father to a child molester. During the season 1, Mackey wages a battle of nerves with Captain Aceveda, his superior officer who considers him nothing more than a hoodlum. Other major characters were- Corrine, Mackey’s wife; Joel Rosenthal as his son; Det. Shane Vendrell; Det. Curtis Lemonhead; detective Claudette Wyms; Officer Danielle “Danny” Sofer; Officer Danielle “Danny” Sofer; Assistant Chief Ben Gilroy.
Season ends on 6-4-2002 with the season finale entitled ‘Circles (2)’. Season ends as Vic and David join the forces to stop the bogus 9-1-1 calls that are tempting cops into traps. Assistant Chief Gilroy attempts to play them against each other and destroy their careers in a desperate effort to save his own.

Claudette and Dutch take the help from Barn for 24 hours and also the help of FBI to find out the serial killer after the dead body of a young hooker is found. Capt. Aceveda investigates Mackey.
