Season 3
The Shield returns with season 3 on 3-9-2004 with the opening episode ‘Playing Tight’. As the second season ends, rumors were there that one of the very popular characters; Officer Danielle Danny Sofer would not appear on the next season. But all this was just a publicity stunt to let viewers stay in touch with the series when it was on a hiatus during summer. Third season begins with two gangs, Byz Latz and One-Niners who’re trying to alter the balance of power by taking on MP5s. McNulty realizes that both the gangs have purchased powerful weapons, so his old ways are the best ways to deal with such kinda situations. Strike Team’s plans are abruptly interrupted by a routine gang. Dutch and Claudette are investigating the murders of 4 Armenian men by an Armenian gang. This season brings Danny, who’s out of her job, working temporarily at a high school. Later on the season, she discovers that she may get her job back very soon. Season finale was entitled ‘On Tilt’ and was aired on 6-15-2004. On this episode, Aceveda ensures that Strike Team members are the targets of an Armenian gang. So, Mackey must takes matters in his own hands to deal with the upcoming situations. Claudette’s career is on the line when she disobeys David’s orders.
