Wish Granted Pawn Reunites Michael and Forest!
Michael Chiklis and Forest Whitaker, make for a powerful combination that illuminates the screen with flashes of brilliant acting.
This is what we got to watch on The Shield series, that dared to demonstrate an atypical image of the cop world. Ever since the show ended, there has been an acute urge in their fans to see them act together again.
The wish has been fulfilled now, as Michael Chiklis’ starrer ‘Pawn’ has roped in Forest Whitaker, thereby, clearing the road for the duos much-awaited re-union.
Speaking about the movie’s plot - it centers on a hostage situation that spirals out of control, when a former-con gets stuck in a tricky chess game between the cops and the mob.
Other recent additions to the movie’s star cast are Ray Liotta and Common. The project will be helmed by David A. Armstrong, who will make his first foray into the world of feature film direction, with this one.
Michael Chiklis will handle a dual job, as he dons the avatar of a co-producer with Michael Becker, Brad Luff and Jeff Most. As per the vibes coming from various quarters, the movie will enter the production phase by December 1st, 2011.
Many among the star cast have just completed their last assignments.
Not too long ago, Chiklis was engrossed in rendering the role of a villain for the upcoming revenge-driven, bone-chilling flick, ‘Parker’, whereas Whitaker has just enacted a pivotal role in ‘The Last Stand’ alongside the man with the bulging-biceps, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Coming to Common, you catch him in a meaty role on the AMC’s TV show, Hell on Wheels.
Well, I feel pity for these stars, as they continue to hop from one project to another, and hardly get any time in between, to de-stress.
But what can they do; fame comes with a heavy price!
Anyway, I cannot wait to see Chiklis and Whitaker reproduce the old magic that their reunion almost guarantees.
